Chinese Healing Methods Introduction

Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese medicine is an ancient method of balancing and building the body’s energy. Today over 60% of the world’s population use Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine is a truly holistic form of medicine aimed at the treatment of the whole body rather than just the symptoms. Encompassing Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Cupping, Tui Na Massage, Dietary Therapy, and exercise (Qi Gong, Tai Chi) etc.

Chinese medicine developed its own unique and thorough system of diagnosis and treatment. It can be used to successfully treat many types of disease (see list on the website).

Chinese medicine can also be used to prevent illness, increase immunity. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Before the biochemical test results indicate issues, people should start taking care of their health. Chinese medicine has the ability to alter your discomfort even while the biochemical tests are within the normal range. In fact, it is essential that treatment commences at this stage. This prevents health from deterioration that leads to the results falling out of the normal range.

Respect for nature and our bodies is another important concept in Chinese medicine. Our bodies are the most amazing creations, just like our universe. Because they have all the self-healing mechanisms built in, we do not replace or suppress our bodies natural healing function. Instead, we clear or open the pathways in our bodies to create an environment for our bodies to heal. This practice helps prevent a tremendous amount of unnecessary toxin buildup or wounds in our bodies. It certainly improves the quality of life for people and helps re-gain that peaceful and balanced state of mind that people deserve to have.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese art and science of healing which consists of the procedure of inserting and manipulating needles through the skin &tissues into various points on the body to relieve pain or for therapeutic purpose. The needle is very fine, sterile and disposable, it is used to regulate the meridians or channels of the body which unblocks the stagnation of “Qi”(energy). These channels are related to the internal organs which if out of balance can cause diseases and pain.

“Classical” acupuncture was developed in China as system of diagnosing &treat pain and disease. It defines acupuncture as one component of Traditional Chinese Medicine which aims to balance energy & blood in the body to keep it function &healthy. Acupuncture effectively relieves pain and corrects the imbalances of the body. Although proven successful for hundred of years without the benefit of modern medical knowledge, it is only in recent years that the scientific and medical communities of Europe & North America have begun to study acupuncture to understand and explain its effectiveness.

Herbal Medicine

The art of Chinese herbal medicine has been in use for over 5,000 years and has been regarded as “the world’s oldest, safest, and most comprehensive system of medical care.” It is based on the use of herbs extracted from plants that possess powerful healing substances, its ability to restore health by correcting imbalances of the human body. All herbs are specially farmed in China and include flowers, leaves, stalks, seeds, barks, and roots. Each herb has healing properties which are used for specific purposes and perform functions. The herbal prescription will be made according to each patient’s specific condition. In order to get to the root of the problem, the herbs are prepared as a tea decoction or taken in granules form.

Cupping

Cupping is a traditional Chinese medicine therapy dating back at least 2,000 years. Types of cupping include retained cupping, flash cupping, moving cupping, wet cupping, medicinal cupping, and needling cupping. Cupping is a type of alternative therapy that originated in China. It involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. The suction may facilitate healing with blood flow, when the blood flow freely to any part of the body, we do not have pain or get sick. Cupping has been used to treat a wide variety of
